JOB TITLE:               Prototype Sewer

REPORTS TO:          Production Manager 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Prototype Sewer will provide EXPERT quality sewing and will assist product development with gear prototype sewing.

AREAS OF RESONSIBILITY:

•  

  Responsible for aiding in the construction of prototypes and/or new designs
• Involved in the initial phase of small-quantity production (Low Rate Initial Production ) of gear
• Daily upkeep of assigned sewing machine

• Ability to convert from a finished product to patterns for reproduction
• Must be able to meet Takt times and quality requirements

• Sew articles per provided standard when applicable (mass production)
• Participation in physical inventory efforts

EXTERNAL QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 2 years industrial sewing experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experienced in producing items in any of the following areas:
• Luggage
• Upholstery
• Outdoor Apparel (outerwear)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
• Self-motivated
