Flat Range CQB Skills Development Course

The JTF@BFG’s Flat Range CQB Skills Development Course is a 10 hour square range session focused on developing the carbine, handgun, and body movement skills and techniques needed to directly transfer to application in the CQB environment.  Essential skills in this course include proper mindset and make ready procedures, engagements between 3 and 50 meters with both primary and secondary weapon systems, foundational weapons manipulations and positions, applied combat marksmanship, as well as carbine and handgun weapon integration (transitions). These fundamental skills are approached from the perspective of fighting with the weapons systems in a close quarters environment with the goal of 100% skills, techniques and procedures transfer when applied off the flat range.

Equipment List:

  • Common Sense
  • Carbine with 3 magazines
  • The ability to carry at least 3 carbine magazines and 2 pistol magazines on your person
  • Quality tactical pistol holster ( No SERPA or similarly designed holsters )
  • IFAK and TQ
  • 300 rounds carbine ammunition
  • 100 rounds pistol ammunition
  • Electronic hearing protection
  • Eye protection
  • Water, Lunch, plus additional snack food (lunch will be taken on the range, do not plan on leaving the range for lunch)
  • Weather appropriate clothing (recommend a set of quality tactical gloves as well)
  • Sunscreen / Insect Repellent
  • Pen and notebook (you will be taking notes)
  • Weapon Support Kit (lube, spare batteries as applicable, tools as applicable to function any weapon accessories you might have)
