A Simple Solution for Gun Sling Storage: The Sling Sleeve.
A SIMPLE SOLUTION FOR
GUN SLING STORAGE.
The Sling Sleeve
Always Better® | July 1st, 2024
A rifle sling is a necessary piece of equipment for many reasons. It allows you to “sling” your rifle when traveling long distances, needing to go hands-on, or when transitioning to your secondary weapon. During an engagement, it can also serve as a third point of contact, increasing stability for more accurate shots.
Blue Force Gear (“BFG”) truly changed the rifle sling market with the introduction of the Vickers Sling. The patented Vickers Sling’s quick adjuster lets the user loosen and tighten the sling rapidly and reliably. BFG later introduced the GMT Sling, a tailed sling. Their ingenus tailed sling design drastically changed the functionality for those who wanted even greater adjustability.
Because BFG has revolutionized the world of gun slings, it only makes sense that they would offer a better solution for stowing slings.

The Sling Sleeve is such a simple design and yet, it’s so highly effective. It’s a 5” long tube of military grade elastic that holds the sling securely in storage. When stowing a rifle or shotgun, having the sling sag uncontained can cause some issues. It could get in the way of other things that need to fit neatly near the gun or worse, it could prevent a quick deployment by snagging on something. (Think: law enforcement officer needing to remove a trunk gun rapidly.)

To avoid snag hazards and a tangled mess, operators would use rubber bands to secure their slings. This is ok in a pinch but rubber bands dry rot and don’t allow for prompt deployment like the Blue Force Gear Sling Sleeve.
To use the Sling Sleeve, thread your 2 point sling through the Sleeve and then mount the sling to your rifle. When the Sling Sleeve isn’t in use, it simply rests on the sling, completely out of the way of the operator. To engage the Sleeve, “z fold” your sling taut and slip the Sling Sleeve over the bundle. You can pull on either end of the fold to get the looped sling tight and secure. To deploy the sling, pull anywhere on the sling and the Sling Sleeve will let go, leaving you with a shotgun or rifle that’s ready to use.
The sleek and minimal design of the Sling Sleeve makes it compatible with most 2 point slings. It works best with the unpadded models of the Vickers Sling including the Standard AK Sling, the GMT Sling, and the Hunting Sling. Its construction from military grade elastic gives it durability that will last, just like any BFG product.
