The Ball Loaded Index Point, or BLIP for short, is an enhancement in the pouch lid that allows for positive grip with cold, wet, gloved hands, or for use in the dark. A small nitrile rubber ball is sewn into the pouch lid which saves weight over traditional lid tabs but provides a mechanical interference between the fingers allowing for consistent pouch opening in adverse conditions.

I've been using blue force gear for many years now. The older i get, the more i want to minimize the weight of my gear. I'm running two of these pouches on a BFG chest rig i don't recall the name of any more. This excellent kit and holds up to time and use. I recommend trying it if you are on the edge of deciding to go with this brand.
Can't fight with the simplicity of a covered mag pouch. The addition of the elastic to collapse the pouches when the mags are removed gives a better sleek profile as well as retention when mags are put in the pouch.
I've been looking for a quality pouch with covered flaps because people seem to sleep on them. This thing fits great on my SPC and if I need to I can fold the flap in to leave my mags exposed. The other flap mags are either double stacked or don't fit gen 3 PMAGs. These work great.
